BRAND YOU

Image
As a design enthusiast, originality and differentiation has paved a platform for the abstract, and has given me a voice to harness and channel energy though art and design. Art has given me the freedom to construct personal expression into creative visuals. This branding process has helped me figure out my design aspirations and how I will incorporate and implement them in my future. I aspire to own my own company that caters to street apparel of the automotive industry.

HOLLIS BRAND CULTURE

Image
Hollis was screaming with interior design from every aspect of each floor plan. The fascination I have with interior design was achieved more than once with this studio. The concept of starting a business in a walk-in closet as a studio, gives us young designers that anything is achievable. Seeing such a successful business, that started out at home, is such a relief to many of those who may think a business of this magnitude cannot be achieved. The organization and collaboration of graphic designers, architects, and interior designers give Hollis such an incredible work force. They not only get to see a third party perspective from one another, but they get to motivate, help, and implement amazing work for their clients.  Important note: Design from 2d calls for prototyping, in order to elicit a real world working design in a 3-dimensional aspect.  "Hire a good bookkeeper, so you can really thrive and focus on your creative work and design...

Trademark and copyright issues have been an ongoing issue in the world of innovation and originality. Trademarks and copyright provide protection and enforcement towards any infringement, counterfeiting, and piracy. These necessary aspects of protection provides the insurance you need to keep your creative work, design, and innovation truly your own. This is an expense that one must take, to not only abide by law, but also generate profit and keep ingenuity in ones own ownership.  "Remember, you have value, so be cautious and aware"-Lisel Ferguson Email: uspto.gov

NEENAH PAPER Paper properties play an important role to each and every project at hand. It can turn a caterpillar into a butterfly. The significance of paper in accordance to the look and feel of what is trying to be achieved may exert a crucial factor in production. Paper attracts attention, so the attention that you hope to attract will rely on the production. Keeping records of the financial affairs of business not only is a significant means of generating revenue, but it is an essential aspect when working with clients. Being specific towards invoicing not only protects you as a designer but also lays out the foundations to what is understood from each party. Quickbooks is an efficient way to keep records organized for business.  "If they cannot pay 50% up front, the most likely they are reluctant to pay you when it's done"- Maelin Levine Email: lisa@kinetiko.org

RESUME DRAFT/ PROCESSING

Image
While drafting my resume I wanted to deviate away from traditional resume layouts. I researched graphic design resumes and in doing so I was inspired to take design aspects from my stationary to give the resume more of a visual excitement. Your resume is your upfront chance to show your knowledge of typography and design. The background layout I will play with the brick wall positioning. The contact info will be refined to a new font that will be center stacked.

PROCESSING PAGE

Image
One of the most important application for my stationary refinement is to find a font family that creates the mood and unity in correlation to my design work. The front of the business card layout will be shifted around. Since the back of the business card is leftward heavy I'm adjusting the front of the card to be leftward heavy as well. The logo on the letterhead layout will be shifted more away from the edge of the paper, and the contact info will be center stacked and applied with a new font.

VIDEO: BUSINESS PRESENTATION

Image
Whenever presenting it is always a good idea to be objective. Having an answer to all aspects of your presentation will make you more knowledgable and credible. Knowing your audience and involving them through questions, physical products, etc. will help you gain credibility. Vocal delivery and physical appearance will help nerves, confidence, likability, and emphasis.

CLOVE ST PRESS

Clove St Press- Daniel Hefferman Clove St was Daniel Hefferman's residential street name when he decided to open his business, hence the name Clove St Press.  Daniel's drive for design influenced his decision to purchase his first letter press. Although it was a blind and risky purchase, this initial decision has since changed his life for the better. With no apprenticeship, Daniel started buying machines and learning the mechanics of them to work in production. Now operating three letter presses, Daniel has built a sustainable business for clients of all types.  "You cannot put a rush on outsourcing"- Daniel Hefferman Vintage machines for craft work: Heidelberg Platen T 1974 Heidelberg Platen GTP 1976 Heidelberg Cylinder KSBA 1976
