Credits and consideration to MaeLin Levine Small adjustments for my business card will be to work with the symmetry and layout of the back of the card to match with the front of the card. We came to the agreement of shifting the design of logo and brick aspect to the left side of the card. The type treatment may work better as a vertical layout to help create a "stopper" that coincides with the brick wall aspect on the left side. Adjustments to the letterhead will be to shift the logo to the left hand side and body set to the right.

VIDEO: CREATING A RESUME-BONNIE SIEGLER

Two important things to remember when creating a resume is to consider the typography, which shows the knowledge you have of design, and limitation to only one page. The content of a resume should include: name, phone number, email, website, work history, education, and skills and interests. It is important to proofread your resume because it makes a good first impression when it is perfect.

VIDEO: STATIONARY

Image
Start off with the design of a business card and the transfer those ideas or aspects to each of the stationary items. The business card should create a "wow" factor when a recipient sees it. A business card should include: a logo, person's name, person's title, address, telephone number, fax number, email address, and website. With a letterhead, it should include: a logo, company name, address, telephone number, fax number, and website. A business letter should include: a date, recipient name, address, greeting, body, closing, sender signature, and sender name. The logo should be the same size on all stationary items.  Business Card: 3.5"x2" Letterhead: 8.5"x11"

LOGO DESIGNS/ CRITIQUE FEEDBACK

Image
Critique and Feedback The logo design I felt most passionate about was picked as the class favorite amongst all other log designs I came up with. The play on the double letter "R" in a crown formation caters to my name, Ronel Reyes, as well as the meaning of my last name which is translated to kings. I have since adjusted the crown aspect to be less wide, the lower sitting adjustment for the negative space within the letter "R", simplification of the crowns base, and coloration incorporated within the logo design.

VIDEO: BRANDING

Image
A logo is not a brand! Branding is the credibility of someone's identity as a person or as a business. There are three types of logos: word marks, icons, and monograms. A good technique to use is to combine the types of logos together to create something new and refreshing. There's a million ways to make something, but works the best?

WEEK 10

Neyenesch Printers-Steve Burke Through 119 years of operations, San Diego based Neyenesch Printers have been servicing commercial printing for many top businesses and incorporations. It was interesting to see that Max Escobedo's magazine was printed within Neyenesch's facility. Also, it was fascinating to learn about how light and dark variations are created with the illusion of varied dot sizes of ink. This particular aspect I referred in my own mind as a stippling technique. The process of working from the darkest colors to the lightest colors in print was not only thought provoked but also somewhat of a technique given that lighter colors are less contaminated.  "Look at your proofs and look at them carefully"- Steven Burke "The earlier you spot an error the cheaper it is"-Steven Burke
